The district of Te Horo is on the outskirts of Otaki an hour or so North of Wellington. Te Horo is regarded as "Wellington's vege garden" and is renowned for fertile soils and a micro climate that make the region ideal for horticluture.
Te Horo Foods is a new company formed by a family that have been working the land since 1970 and the property and business is now managed by the second generation. Over the decades they have grown a wide range of fruit crops at one time or another evolving with the ever changing market.
Among other notable horticultural achievements the family property now boasts one of the largest blackberry crops in the country.
